Music News: Ryan Adams Announces Release Date For New Album

Ryan Adams announced today that the street release date for his new album "Ashes & Fire" will be October 11. The album, produced by the legendary Glyn Johns, features songs that will have a more country feel than his last few albums "Easy Tiger" and "Cardinology" and "III & IV".

According to Ryan's Facebook page the singer is quoted as saying "It (the new album) has 11 songs on it. I played acoustic guitar on all of them and sang and played live to tape. We recorded the album ALL 100 percent ANALOG (2" tape mixed to 1/4"). A computer didn't touch this album. It has very few overdubs. I gave these songs the most consideration I have ever given and it is certainly the longest amount of time I've spent writing. It was made with total love. Very excited."

As reported before guest's on the album include Benmont Tench of Tom Petty's Heartbreakers and frequent guest Norah Jones who sings backing vocals on a number of songs including "Come Home" "Save Me" and "Kindness". The album was recorded at Hollywood's Sunset Sound Factory and will be released on Ryan's own PAX-AM label.

Ryan will also be announcing more U.K. tour dates in the near future.
